Obviously, no official date has been put out there for the release of the updated iPods, but Apple may be using the photos to hint at a July 14 announcement or release date. It’s unclear whether or not the new iPods will feature any hardware or storage upgrades, but with the amount of time and money Apple is putting into the new Apple Music service, it seems logical that the new iPods will support it. While Apple has not released any official word on an iPod update, these images likely point to a release sometime soon. Other users later spotted every model of iPod in these colors – including the iPod Touch, Nano, and Shuffle in the deep blue, gold, and pink hues. An iPod Touch, noticeably sans carrying-loop, is shown in a deep blue color, as well as an iPod Nano in gold, and an iPod Shuffle in hot pink. However, iTunes 12.2 displays a graphic featuring iPods in colors that aren’t yet released. Users that plugged their iPods into computers with iTunes 12.2 installed are, as usual, shown a graphic confirming the connection. Apple may have confirmed a new batch of iPods via a set of leaked photos in the new version of iTunes. We reported back in May that Apple was looking to re-introduce the iPod to their lineup. iTunes version 12.2 contained more than just support for Apple Music – it contained leaked photos of the new iPod lineup. ![]() To support the new Apple Music streaming service on desktop and laptop computers, Apple also pushed out a new update to iTunes. The past week has seen Apple release a slew of updates – OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 was released, and of course, iOS 8.4 was released with the new Apple Music app. ![]()
